Earth Science Department Faculty awarded Research Grant to study water quality in Nepal

Dr. Mohammad Iqbal, Professor of Geology and Environmental Science, has been awarded an National Science Foundation award to do collaborative research with colleagues in Nepal.  The project "U.S.-Nepal Collaborative Research to Assess and Mitigate Pollution in the Densely Populated Kathmandu Valley" will involve Earth Science faculty and students, as well as faculty and students of Tribhuvan University in Nepal.  

Along with this research, Dr. Iqbal and his students continue their research on water quality issues in the state of Iowa, including evaluation of the Cedar River in eastern Iowa and Dry Run Creek in Black Hawk County.
